But what kind of sucks is I am technically not 'in' school, it sucks that everyone is excited that they don't have class and I still have things due because mine are all online. There are four of us living in this house: my hubby, my sis, and her boyfriend. All four of us are going back to school, I am the only one that is a full distant learning student the other three are all hybrid. I am sure that I will become a hybrid in a couple semesters so I am going to enjoy missing school if they call it off. But I do enjoy a few things they don't.
Like most of my assignments are due on Friday's. Theirs is usually due the next class period so I have more time to do it. Less time in a class room, I feel I have less to do as well it seems. Less ink I have use to print off assignments or papers, just have to email them to my professors. My hubby has done nothing but the last three days except for homework it seems for the same class. Whereas I have been doing nothing of the sort. Tuesday I did UE in less than an hour, CSI maybe 15 minutes, don't have my history class until the 14th of February. Then English just had to write my two blogs that will take me a total hour if that. Now Paper is due Monday night for workshop so I am going to spend an hour each night until then working on it but that’s all I have to do for this week so a total of 6 hours doing homework a week so far. Not bad if I say so myself.
But my paper is still due on Monday where as my sister's paper that was due today, isn't going to have to be due until Tuesday now instead. If that, we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow than again on Monday so there may be a big chance she doesn't have to get it done until Thursday. SO jealous. Yet as I type this I begin to think she probably still has to follow the syllabus where as I am already done, so she maybe have to be in class longer or she may have more on her shoulders to deal with at one time.
So I am jealous that school has let out for them but not jealous at the same time.
Ashley,
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! HA! I love this blog that you did here! I, as well, have a friend that goes to class, where as I am online full time. Her name is Ashley to! Anyway, I called Ashley last night to see how she was spending her snow days so far. She said she has been lazy. She has worked out a little on her tredmill and eat and done a lot of t.v. watching. Then she asked me what I've been doing and I told her that since I am online, I still have a strict deadline for things, so i told her that I have been getting ahead of my homework. I, as well, didn't want to come to terms with writing my paper but I sucked it up and started it, I'm pretty good at english, but lets face it, nobody WANTS to start writing their paper. Anyway, I got half my paper done and I told Ashley all this on the phone. Ashley told me that she should have been doing her homework this entire time because she has a ton of stuff due when she gets back, but she hasn't done ANY of it at all. Ashley and I both work at Dairy Queen here in Lamar, MO. I work during the day and since I had my daughter in July, I only work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She is one of the night shift managers and she has to work all this weekend. I asked her what all she had to do and she has to read 4 chapters, study for a quiz, and write a rough draft for a paper. I told her she better buckle down and get to work on it or she wasn't going to be happy later. She hasn't been answering her phone today so I know she has locked herself in her room and won't answer because she doesn't want to be tempted to go anywhere until she is done with some of her homework. She is a BIG procrastinater, but she will buckle down and get it done just in time, everytime! I think that my online classes are great! I like doing it online! My friend Ashley hates online classes. She says they are hard. The difference between us is that I am a VERY organized person and she just wings it! I love Ash to death though! I think everybody just has to do it their own way to achieve the results they want. Well, good luck to you and your family of schoolmates! Personally, I'm very sick of all this snow. I wish it was spring all ready. Winter sucks!
It's definitely nice when you don't have to go to school because of snow. I think that is the main thing on everyones mind. It would have been crazy if MSSU hadn't cancelled classes. Most people might not have shown up anyways, I know I wouldn't have.
