Last Post

This is my last post to this blog, dont really know if I should be sad or happy because I no longer have to do this twice a week.  Pretty much just going to sum up my school year I guess.

English: Loved this class so much better than 101 last year.  Not only did I get to pick my own topics to write about but I did a really good job and getting those good grades definatly made me a lot more positive in my other classes! The two blogs a week was acutally better than writing from a book that had tons of essay's in it.  (Ex: This one time I had to write a 3 page essay on a essay that was maybe 100 words, could you not!) So happy didn't have to do that this year!

CSI 2: Is a class that I am require to take for my Computer Forensic major.  This class is so awesom I am learning things that I never knew was even possible.  Did you know the best way to remove super glue is with Coke?  Never knew that, we learned that while learning how to discover away to make a fingerprint visible.  And to make that possible you have to turn the superglue into a gas.  It was just plain awesome.

History 110:  I love history, but please please if you haven't taken it yet and you are a distant learner like I am please take the DvD edition not the plain reading.  I messesd up last semester by taking the class without DvD or lector and lets just say I had to retake it this year.  Christian does an awesome job on the DvD.  Passing with an A and just had to watch the lecture and take notes never had to open the book up once.

UE:  This class is so freaking pointless it is stupid.  Passing with an A and didnt do half the stuff.  Didn't read any of the material besides the book The Alchemist.  You can take the quizzes as many times as you want to get a passing grade, most of it was just common sense and then when I retook the quiz I wrote the question down and did the same thing except for guessing the different answer.  They should seriously just take this away from a requirement if they aren't even going to put any effort in it.

Fan Fiction

Do you love reading as much as I do?  Do you like to dive into adventures, romances, drama, and angst or just down right funny?  Do you have a favorite book, T.V. show, movie, or comic that you love so much that wished certain outcomes had changed; different couples had hooked up or if you just want a continuation of something ended.  Do you like reading things that are free?  Then let the internet be your guide into the world of Fan Fiction.  You can literally read for the next year nothing but Fan Fiction for a year every night and still not read of it.  There is so many sites that you can go to with so many talented writers.  I’ve literally gone over a year without buying a single book since I found Fan Fiction, where before I reading probably 5-6 books a month and was not satisfied with my reading material. 

Did you know that the very first Fan Fiction posted on the internet was the original Star Trek.  The fandom of Fan Fiction was once for just nerds now many readers all over the country read and as well as write it themselves.  Not only is it a good place to read but also a good way to get noticed.   I know of three authors I enjoyed reading publish their own books because they were ‘found’ by their Fan Fiction!

The best sites to go to that are general sites are fanfiction.net, livejournal.com, and tumblr.com.  Those three are the places to find general writings of any show, any book, any movie, and on the last two many original stories.  There are actually several different sites you can go to that have original stories as well. I’ve however never checked them out due to Fan Fiction being so loved.  Glee of course all of you know takes a lot of my fan fiction time.  On the show Brittana is so close to being together, however I read the summer after the first season a 100k word story of them being together and moving to New York. 

A few things you have to learn before joining Fan Fiction however if you are interested.  First you need to go here to figure out all the basic terms are for Fan Fiction.  A few terms:

Fandom: Of course what group of what your reading.

Canon: This is the actual storyline that your reading is based on.

AU: aka Alternative Universe, (to mean this is just an original story just using the fandom’s names and popular places) Ex. Criminal Minds: They are no longer criminalist but cowboys.

AH: aka All human (mostly sci fi or fantasy) Ex. Twilight: All human.  That is actually a very popular writing style to make all of them human; they do an excellent job of it.

OC: Original Character

OOC: Out of Character

Then we go into couples, a lot of stories are couple based to be honest, just reality of life.

Slash: usually two females or two male storylines that usually don’t follow canon.

FF: Usually mean a lesbian storyline. Harry Potter: Hermione/Fleur

MM: A Gay Storyline between two men. Star Trek Captain Kurk/Spock (Was actually the very first slash storyline)

Random

Really excited most of my classes are pretty much done besides a couple odds and ends.  CSI test, History Test, and after this blog just the two next week and I am done for the summer.  I really wasn’t sure if I wanted to take the summer off since even though this is my second semester as a freshmen I still will be a freshmen next semester because I only did 12 hours each semester so I’ll only have 24.  I should really take 6 hours but I think I need a small break. 

Not much really going on with my life went and took that AT&T assessment, ya…I totally failed it now I have wait 6 months to retake it.  It wasn’t the questions were hard but you have to take this simulation of calls and they are recorded calls that you have to take down their information…just fyi I can type fairly fast.  Had to take a typing class with this woman that pretty much said by the end of the year everyone had to pass by typing at least 80 wpm.  If not you failed so I totally am fast typer.  Well the simulation was so quick I couldn’t type all the info down.  It was really dumb too… because one when I give my information to someone over the phone I usually pause in between.  Like on phone call 555 pause 555 pause…or on my credit card 4567 pause 6547 pause… not 54879898 really fast! Grr it just really aggravates me that I didn’t pass!

So the hubby wants to go see his grandparents on Tuesday.  They’re really great…but I don’t really know them so I don’t really know what to talk about and half the time I just play with my phone while they talk and I try to get to know them but…they are so different then what my grandparents were like.  I kind of feel bad that I don’t know them but at the same time its just I can’t get the motivation to talk to them.  But we don’t really go see them that often and he kind gets upset if I say no to going with him.  I just wish I could get to know them or…he just lets me stay at home…Wow that didn’t sound awful at all!

My mom wants to go Warrenton, MO (near St. Jo and St. Louis) with her this weekend but what a horrible trip that is.  A lot of my family lives up there, okay most of my family lives up there.  They are actually snobs, I don’t really care for and they are actually blood relatives of mine.  I wouldn’t mind going to see some of my cousins on my grandma side… but mostly the snobs are on my great uncles side.  Every time went up there after my grand died my uncle would always talk bad about my grand .  And he is one of those people if you say something he makes it out like you just committed the ultimate sin….

Beginners guild to WoW

So, you’ve decided to play WoW (World of Warcraft).  But you have nowhere to even begin on playing this wonderful game and you don’t know anyone else that knows how to play either…First tip begin to bookmark a couple sites that will help you level to 85.

Wowhead.com: I literally have this site as my homepage because I use it constantly for questions that I don’t have the answers to.  I still have questions and I’ve played the game for the last 3 years and something’s I still don’t know. I couldn’t tell you anything about the warrior class at all.  Wowhead is mostly about questing and items and where you can find them.  While you are questing on your brand new hunter you should make sure that wowhead is one of your bookmarks. Just an fyi the first thing after you begin questing is to find a guild to join.  Most guilds are really good as helping noobies navigate through the game. 

Professions are a huge thing in this game; if you want to earn gold then you need professions to help out on funding your gold.  Almostgaming.com is the best profession leveling guild out there.  Some people will power level without a profession then go back after they hit 85 and follow this guild line.  It will show you the cheapest way of leveling a profession.  They even tell which ones you should need your second profession to be so you can be successful with your first one.  Example Alchemy would be best if your second profession was herbalism. 

Now your 85, this is where the real fun begins.  There are literally a million sites that you can visit on gearing your toon after 85, however if you want the best then two sites you should go to is elitistjerks.com and mmo-champions.com.  Elitist jerks is one of the top guilds in the world, they literally get paid to play WoW all day.  That is their job and they get paid a lot of money to do it, so they have to be the best at what they do.  They made a guide to help other people with their toons so they be just as good.  MMO-Champions the creator of the site is actually one of the creators of WoW they even go into detail mathematical about the hit chance being a 3.3333% way to do it. 

Once you’ve gotten geared up and your guild is on its way at knocking down bosses and killing mobs in dungeons and raids you find a site that has leaderboards.  Yes, there are sites that record everything that is being done in the game. Best sites to look at are wow-heroes.com and wowjutsu.com both really good sites to see where not only your guild is ranked but you are ranked among the gods. 

Then when you’re on your down time you can start building your rep with all the 100 factions that the game has to offer a good site to look at would be wowjutsu.com/repcalc it will tell you exactly what you need to do to get your rep for each faction up.

My Week

Such a busy filled week it has been.

My research paper is due on Monday, History test due tonight, two blogs that I put off til the last minute.  Looking for a job got an interview that I took over the phone, (Which was a first for me).  Have a second interview and an assessment I have to take next Thursday.  Grey’s Anatomy last night still have to watch it really excited, probably take a break after this to watch it on my DvR.  Glee Tuesday is supposed to be the most controversial episode so far, so many ideas are going through my head on what is supposed to happen.  So excited about that!

Homework is getting stressful, I am sure so many students agree with me right now.  I know it’s the end of the year but why can’t we do the big things at the beginning of the semester rather than the end because all my classes are giving out their test or papers due all in the same clump time.  History I have test tonight, Next Friday and the Friday after that.  Research paper Monday, test for CSI, and UE assignments as well.  Of course for some reason I could not get motivated this week so I waited until the very last minute to do it all!

Interview I have set up for next Thursday is for AT&T call center, I really hope I get the job because they have so many good benefits that is borders on too much.  I start out with 10 weeks training Mon-Fri 8-5 starting between 9.85 to 11.45 just for training!  After that the first year I get 24 paid vacation, vision, medical, and dental insurance after the first 6 months.  After the first 90 days I get a thousand free minutes for my phone, the after the first year I can transfer to any city in the world to any AT&T store.  I really hope I get this job just for those.  Now I get 40 hours but after training I won’t really know what my hours will be because sonority gets the best hours.  I really prefer days but I wouldn’t mind a few evenings.  I just hope I could get my Tuesday Wednesdays off.  Then I would be extremely happy about that!

I love the end of the year shows, sometimes they pull out all stops and sometimes they go so far that your jaw just drops at what happens next.  I watching the preview for Glee for next week and so many things are happening that I have no clue where they are going.  There are two previews: One shot Quinn is coming out of Sam’s house and then another shot shows Kurt coming out Sam’s house.  WHAT IS GOING ON!  Is Sam gay?  Is Quinn cheating on Finn?  Like I said so many questions and I don’t know whether I should look up or down? Left or Right?  I really just wished it was Tuesday already!  Oh and they are saying that this episode may be the episode of the beginning of Brittana!!!! It is so on, it’s always been on!

job sites

Steps into finding the best job for you!  Now I’ve been looking for a job the last five days, around here there isn’t a lot that I can work at considering I’ve worked retail and retail only for the last six years.  A lot of places require experience.  I know you ask yourself how you can find a job when they all ask for experience needed.  I have no way to answer that question but I can tell you where the best sites to go to, to find the job you may want.

Monster.com, this is probably the first site you should go to you fill out this pre-resume like information and they will bring up a list of all the available places you can work all the way up to 100 miles away from where you are located.  Very nice.. Then you can go and break down the list.  Let’s face it the list can be fairly long even if you have no experience.  It then breaks it up in Job times whether you want full time or part time or contract or internship.  Then what kind of job you’re looking for Customer sales or retail with many other choices that fit your bill.  You can even break it down in the industry whether you want to work in the healthcare or the transport area.  Really good site

Careerbuilders.com is another job searching place you go to.  It’s not as in debt at monster.com however this site you can even find places that are purely online, so you be stay at home mom or student and never leave the comforts of you own home just by doing your work whether Customer Service or billing right in the seat of your favorite recliner. 

consumerresearchinc.com, is a great place for if you want to do all online jobs.  They have everything from survey taking, to mystery shopping, to group signup sheets.  They not only pay you with money but they also pay you in gifts like iPads, iPhones, laptops, and other big in items.  Usually you have to sign up for offers they give then just turn around and cancel the item that you signed up for which could become a hassle if you forget to cancel and end up getting a service that you didn’t really want.

I am still searching for a job that I would like to stay at home and get pretty much the same amount of money that I was making, but the chances are going to be slim to none on that front.  I have been looking into thecloud.com; they are a customer service telecommunication center.  I could do all my work at the front of my computer, no experience needed they will do the training right directly to your computer without leaving the comforts of your home.  Which is really lovely when you have homework or are a stay at home mom that wants the earn a little extra cash on the side to help with bills.

Life

How do you go along with finding oneself?  This week has been really hective to be really honest. 

Gaming

I just don’t know what is up with WoW but I just can’t find a guild that knows what the hell they are doing.  I mean it really isn’t that hard to recruit people to raid with us…instead we are trying to kill the same boss over and over again knowing that we are either not geared well enough or that we are running with the wrong composition.  Which isn’t such a bad idea, it just means I need to start looking for a better guild that I am in.

Homework

I don’t know if it is because it is the end of the semester or what but I just can’t get into homework anymore.  At the beginning I was very gung-ho always doing homework on Tuesdays on my day off and then having the rest of the week to do anything I wanted.  Now I am lucky if I don’t get it done by the end of the night on Friday when the assignment is due.  I know that is very wrong of me to wait til the last minute.  But I am just not into it, and I really need to get my act together because I have a really big paper due in a couple weeks that is probably going to take me more than three days I usually take to do it.  *slaps myself* “GET INTO GEAR”

Work

I don’t even know why I am going there…So I am quitting my job tomorrow.  For the love of God do not ever work in a huge retail store…think of it like the U.S. government?  It’s all about the politics and if you aren’t sucking up to the write people than you might as well kiss your job away because you will totally get screwed.  I worked in the same position for three years.  I worked really hard in that position but to them it wasn’t good enough and they booted me to the front end.  I can’t handle the frontend due to my social anxiety.  I even told them I couldn’t handle it but they don’t care.  So I am looking for a job, some place that dealing with people is a small scale nothing like Wal-Mart where you deal with thousands of people just in one day.

Actually the only thing that is going well because of wrapping up with school so slowing a little bit down before end of the semester tests and papers I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning, which is making the hubby happy.  Been looking for small jobs on the net to keep him happy until I find a new job.  Found a site where I just write a few things and they pay by the word count which is pretty awesome going to have my hubby look at the site to make sure it is legit.  Don’t want to start something that is completely false.
