Reading is a huge stress reliever for me, most of my post will probably will be about a book I read, WoW, or working at Wal-mart. Just a heads up!
A Charmed Life is a short story that found the other day, on the web. Very insightful, something a lot deeper than I am usually used to reading. Shawn led the perfect life, she had the perfect parents that gave her literally anything she wanted. She was on the honor roll in high school, Varsity basketball team, and when she was a senior she came out to her parents. Even then parents were perfectly fine with that fact. She ended up taking the soon-to-be prom queen to prom, and everyone in her class was fine with it.
Once she hit college on a full ride scholarship, met the woman she planned to spend the rest of her life with, then went to med school. Became a very prestige doctor, had two beautiful children, made tons of money and couldn’t be happier. That was until she walked into a robbery in her home and was shot point blank in the chest!
(Okay at that part I almost stopped reading; I hate angst so bad it is ridiculous! Well, I take that back I love angst as long as pain characters do not die, than I can live with, I just have to have my happy ending.)
Anywho, the story wasn’t even close to be over, the next chapter sets up where she is in limbo and she refuses to move, telling the people in charge that she will not move on without her family. Trying to explain to them that she has to go back to protect them, begging, and not getting anywhere it seems. She refuses to move on and starts wondering around trying to find a way back unsuccessful, until one of the head huncho’s comes back and gives her a way back.
She can go back, but not as her own body, because well time is different there, where it’s only been days to her, it’s been years there. She is told that they found a person about to commit suicide and that she will take over that body and make it better. Better in the since that this woman is identical to Shawn’s life 100% the only difference she didn’t have the perfect life that Shawn had, she was abused by her guardian’s, when her guardian’s found out she was abused from it. Shawn is very reluctant to do this, but is reassured so she agrees anyway for her to go back.
What do you suppose happens next? Does she succeed in getting her family back even with the small fact that she is no longer the person they knew as her as? I really don’t want to ruin the story line for anyone that wants to read this story. I loved it, I love reading stories online, pretty much because I can read any genera I want for free so many different sites to choose from!

I enjoy reading as a stress reliever too! I think that sounds like a very interesting book, and I might look into it. It's funny that you mention that you work at Wal-Mart, because I also work at Wal-Mart! Some of my posts might poke some fun at the craziness of working in retail as well, come to think of it!
ReplyDeleteI love to read also. I can sit down with a good book and read until the end. It's just always hard to find time to do that anymore. Sounds like a good story. May have to fit it into the time table.
